Riley Meredith is an Australian cricketer, who plays as a fast bowler for the Australian cricket team. He represents Tasmania in first-class cricket, Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League, and Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League. Riley Meredith consistently chipping in deliveries at a pace around 150 km/h with his reverse swing makes him a great prospect in international cricket for the Australian team. In January 2017, Riley Meredith at the age of 21, made his List-A debut for Cricket Australia XI against Pakistan. Following year, he also made his debut in the first-class debut for Tasmania in the 2017–18 Sheffield Shield season.
In 2018-19, Riley Meredith took 27 wickets in 8 matches for Tasmania in the 2018–19 Sheffield Shield season and 16 wickets in the Big Bash League for Hobart Hurricanes. Riley Meredith’s maiden wicket in first-class cricket came through Australian all-rounder Daniel Christian. Riley Meredith has taken a total of 53 wickets from 18 matches in first-class cricket for Tasmania. In 2020-2021, Riley Meredith came back stronger after recovering from the injury picking up 16 scalps at an economy of 7.82. This helped him to get his first international call-up in the Australian squad against New Zealand.
